being "country fried"

Being "country fried" is sort of a state of mind....if you have country roots it never really leaves you no matter how city-fied you think you are. Its sort of like being red-neck w/o being racist or a hunter and kind of like being white-trash w/o being on welfare. Sometimes the roots show more than others- like a penchant for pink flamingos and/or beer logo tshirts, sometimes its more subtle like enjoying the occasional old lady craft or good homemade comfort food. My roots are pretty evident as i indulge fully in all crafts and hobbies that are normally only done in retirement homes, i love to cook anything but i consider homemade comfort foods my specialty, and i dont mind getting my hands dirty to accomplish something i have my mind set on (even if it turns out to be a horrible idea)
